Johanson (Pocket Guide to Fasteners) and other leading quilting artists provide 15 projects that utilize T-shirts. The book includes a good introduction to what a T-shirt quilt entails. The contributors also explain quilting basics and provide a required equipment list, such as a sewing machine, interfacings, stabilizers, rulers, cutting tools for beginners, and more. New sewists may find themselves having to spend a considerable amount of money to get started, which some readers may find to be a barrier. The projects, well laid out with clear and concise terminology, range from fairly basic to advanced. While this book is aimed at beginners, some of the project ideas may be better suited for advanced beginners and intermediate sewists. VERDICT This book is suited for readers interested in learning how to create quilts in general or T-shirt quilts specifically.--Carrie Byrd
